What is a buyer's premium?
The Buyer shall pay a Buyer's Premium, of 15.0% of the Hammer price, which shall be retained by us. More information for Buyers.

What is a hammer price?
The purchase price paid for a lot upon the fall of the auctioneer's hammer. In addition to the hammer price, the successful bidder is responsible for the Buyer's Premium of 15.0% plus any applicable sales tax. More information for Buyers.

As a seller, when will I receive a final settlement?
The final settlement checks are sent to consignors 30 days following the date of the auction. If you have specific financial needs, please contact our office at 800-509-1988 to discuss other compensation options. More information for Sellers.

What is the catalog price?
We offer an annual subscription rate of 20% off the individual cover price. Because we publish specialty catalogs periodically, cover prices vary by volume. Please visit our order catalog page to see current prices for our upcoming auction catalogs.

Can I purchase past catalogs?
Many of our past catalogs are available at a discounted rate. Visit our online order page to see what volumes are still in stock.

How do I receive information for upcoming auctions?
Simply sign up to be on our mailing list. By entering your email address, you will be signed up to receive free updates including free online catalog access, prices realized, new collections, upcoming auctions and events information as well as upcoming auction highlights, bidding forms and deadline alerts. How do I set up a bid?
Greg Martin Auctions offers many ways for bidders to participate. If you are planning on participating at our live auction in San Francisco or New York, download the bidder registration form, fill it out, and fax it back to us at 415-543-7576. Your bidder paddle will be waiting for you when you arrive on auction day. If you are unable to make it to our auction, but wish to bid live, please download the telephone bid form, fill it out, and fax it to our office at 415-543-7576. A representative will call you before your lot comes up for auction and bid at your direction on the auction floor. For clients that prefer absentee bidding, you may submit bids via our complimentary online catalog, or you may download the absentee bid form, fill it out, and fax it back to our office at 415-543-7576. How can I receive a complimentary auction appraisal?
Greg Martin Auctions is happy to provide free appraisals for any client that is considering consigning property to our auctions. You can request an appriasal online via our online appraisal form or contact our office at 800-509-1988 to speak with a specialist. Are there special considerations when purchasing a modern or curio handgun?
Most firearms made after 1898 will require special permits or paperwork before you receive your purchase. This depends on the state you live in and the specifics of the firearm purchased. What is Greg Martin Auctions shipping policy?
GMA provides free domestic (packing &) shipping on all Arms and Armor purchases of $25,000 and above. Any purchases below the minimum will incur a packing charge of $10 for handguns (pistols) and $15 for long guns (carbines, rifles, muskets). Insurance and shipping charges will be the responsibility of the purchaser. Greg Martin Auctions uses Federal Express as our exclusive shipping company. Any other carriers will be engaged at the expense, risk and responsibility of the purchaser. All non-arms and armor purchases will be directed to a packing and shipping company upon the Buyer's direction and expense. International clients are responsible for all packing and shipping charges, as well as any customs fees or taxes. More information for Buyers.
